9 Days of Solidarity : October 2-15, stand with Indigenous Peoples in court
First Nations are in court against Kinder Morgan this October. Pledge to stand with them.
As the battle over Kinder Morgan heats up, standing as strong allies with Indigenous Peoples is more important than ever.
We are planning 9 days of solidarity for the first 2 weeks of October, 2017, to show support to Indigenous Peoples as they face down the oil giants in court.
Will you stand with Indigenous Peoples in court this October?
From October 2nd through the 15th, Indigenous communities are headed to court to try and overturn Justin Trudeau’s approval of Kinder Morgan. They’re going to court to stand up for Indigenous rights, for the water, for whales, for the land and for the climate. In short, they’re going to court on behalf of all of us. That’s why we want to show up for them as “The People vs. Kinder Morgan”.
Two weeks in court is gruelling. Pull Together needs to raise an additional $125,000 for the 4 Indigenous Nations who are part of the campaign to stop Kinder Morgan in the courts. We also want to keep up the momentum for the whole two weeks, with positive actions and community events that show Indigenous peoples, the media, and the rest of the world that First Nations do not stand alone.
We invite you to dream up a way you can practically support them during the 9 Days of Solidarity or any time this fall. Attend an action on the first day of the hearings, ask 5 friends to donate, organize or attend a Pull-Together themed community fundraiser, or support a local business donating part of their till. Together, we can stop Kinder Morgan. Many paddles, one canoe.
