Join us on the dance floor as we raise funds to support the First Nations who are heading to court in an effort to stop the Kinder Morgan pipeline! This event is one of many that are happening around the province (and even across Turtle Island) as part of the Pull Together campaign. Find out more at pull-together.ca.
Cover: $10-30 sliding scale (If you can afford to pay more, please be generous! If money is an obstacle to attending, please contact us.)
The costs of renting the hall and sound equipment have already been covered and our amazing DJs are volunteering their talents, so 100% of the money raised will go to the Pull Together campaign.
8:00-9:30pm – Jazmin Love
Jaz blends world beat, electronic and organic sounds, creating a diverse, upbeat soundscape for your dancing pleasure. A facilitator and space holder of Dance Temple Victoria, she is passionate about music and embodied movement as a means of joyful awakening and wild, creative expression.
9:30-11:00pm – Anchor Hill
Anchor Hill (a.k.a. Rich Heart) is an eclectic blend of classically influenced electronica and dance music (that includes live trumpet and flute), inspired by nature, love, visionary culture, and technology. Future bass music that borders on downtempo psychedelic, full of organic sounds, live wind instruments, great vibes and world beats. Each arrangement explores many ranges of style and emotion, reflecting our own unique experiences of life.
The event is taking place in the hall directly east of Fairfield United Church. The space is wheelchair accessible and will have gender-inclusive washrooms. We encourage you to consider arriving by bicycle or public transit if you are able to, or to carpool with others. There is plenty of bike parking on the north side of Fairfield Rd.
We acknowledge with gratitude that this event is taking place on the unceded, traditional territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees nations.
