Fracking, flooded farmland, threatened orcas, destroyed ancient forests and a changing climate?
Is this your vision for BC’s future?
Or would you rather a province that prioritizes clean water, renewable energy, respect for Indigenous rights, and a safe future for everyone?
Join us at noon at the BC Legislature to stand up for what you love!
This rally will coincide with the official opening of the BC Legislature — where decisions around critical environmental issues like tarsands pipelines and tankers, fracking and LNG export plants, the Site C megadam and the continued destruction of endangered old-growth rainforests are made. We need your help to make this rally HUGE, and to send a strong message to BC’s elected leaders!
Sometimes love hurts, and it’s time to tell BC politicians that their decisions have consequences.
The rally will feature speakers from the local environmental movement and First Nations.
Please wear red and bring a noise maker!
*This event will be held on the territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations. Mega-projects and bad environmental policies disproportionately impact Indigenous peoples. Recognition of this and respect for the authority of Indigenous peoples across BC is ciritical as we call for enviromental and social justice.
Rally hosted by: Amnesty International, Council of Canadians, Victoria Chapter, Dogwood BC, Friends of Carmanah Walbran, Greenpeace (local group), Kairos Victoria, Poets for the Peace, RAVEN (Respecting Aboriginal Values & Environmental Needs), Rolling Justice Bus, Sierra Club BC, SocialCoast, Social Environmental Alliance – SEA, Wilderness Committee- Victoria Office.
