Last summer, a group organized queer speed-dating event at Vancouver’s Heartwood Cafe. Wish you could have been there? Organize your own! Connections were made, fun was had, and $300 was raised for Pull Together!

Below is some information from the event. Will it inspire you to create your own event?
Do you like playful pick-up lines, not pipelines? Babes not bitumen? It’s pride month! And we are in the wake of one nasty decision to approve the Enbridge pipeline. So what’s a queer to do?

Join Thunderpants for a very queer evening of flirtatious five-minute encounters with lovely strangers and all folks ranging from rad, respectful, and romantic. If you be looking for a summer love, a snugglebuddy, a tent tornado, a bed rocker, or simply a little extra social time, join Thunderpants at Heartwood for some wicked dates and mingling.

This mix-and-match of ALL GENDERS and queerientations may just help you find what your little heart desires.Thunderpants organizes and hosts the event; all you have to do is be there!

Proceeds will go to supporting First Nations Legal Challenges to the Enbridge Pipeline. Solidarity is sexy!

COST: Sliding Scale 10$ – 50$ (no one is turned away for lack of funds)

This event is taking place on the un-ceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.

Who knew stopping pipelines could be so sexy?
