World Oceans Day took our breath away!

Thanks to you, we’ve raised an amazing, amazing $432,000.

Because of this wonderful Pull Together community, we’re well on the way towards the goal of making sure the Tsleil Waututh, Coldwater and Squamish Nations have solid support as they head to court this fall.

This past week, businesses like SPUD, Spread ’em Kitchen and Uprising Breads Bakery donated proceeds to Pull Together. 185 people donated $15k for World Oceans Day. Hundreds of people walked from Victoria, through Vancouver to the Kinder Morgan terminal in Burnaby, raising $20,000 for Pull Together along the way.

Your solidarity, your commitment in action, your creativity: it takes our breath away.

Kinder Morgan has made it clear that, despite the groundswell of opposition they face, they plan to build this pipeline.  Our movement is a mirror image of their determination: as the Texas oil giant struggles to drum up support in the face of investor uncertainty, people like you are in the streets and on the web, organizing and fundraising for the legal challenges that we believe can stop this project.

We’re confident we’ll win, because you’re with us.

Door Proceeds, you are part of a movement for climate justice. It’s a movement that is  every bit as powerful as the civil rights movement and the liberation movements that have advanced gay rights and women’s equality.  We’re in a climate emergency: when Bill McKibben of spoke at Pull Together’s launch, he said “The planet is running a fever. Y’all are the antibodies.”

Thank you for working so hard on the Pull Together plan, so Kinder Morgan can’t ruin the planet. Thank you for putting reconciliation into action for Indigenous brothers and sisters. And thank you for making World Oceans Day so meaningful by making sure all creatures can enjoy the beaches, surf, coastline and waters of the Salish Sea, forever.
